Also, a tip on Bowser's Inside Story: if you keep boosting only the same stat, the numbers that appear for the bonus points get lower and lower. If you keep boosting only atack, you'll only get +1 from the bonus. You need to balance it out more over several stats, then the bonus amounts increase again. Attack, Defense and Stache/Horn are the most valuable stats. HP and Speed are useless, and SP is pretty important and you should occasionally boost that, but once you find Special Beans you can increase your SP that way and concentrate again on ATK, DEF and Stache/Horn. Just remember to balance it out once the bonus drops in value.
(You can learn all this from the hint booth in the Toad residence in Bowser's body. The blue Toad with the specs who always says 'by boogity' is the man you need.)
I finished the game with a 73 luigi and a 72 mario, had a 50 something bowser.
Only truly challenging thing was the bowser battle in the 7th gauntlet fight.

And for stats, Spam ATT for a while, but then start to even your shit out.
Speed is useless, period.
HP is ok, but i only did it a few times.
DEF is also very good, but not needed for a while.
and the luck(stache/horn) gets you a higher chance to get a crit hit and the shit at the shops.

Thats bowser's last special attack btw. If you get excellent, broggy hits 4 times then each of the 15 blitties attack.
M/L's last one was Falling Star, but i found Magic Window(2nd to last) much more useful, seeing as you get infinite attacks so long as you hit the action command.
Am playing Spirit Tracks right now, It's pretty good, but if the game ends when i get all the rails back, it will have been pretty short
My brother beat the game at like 35 or something.
I'm gonna stick with only attack and mustache.
You get special ending if M+L and bowser are all at max rank(Lv40+)
You also get one if you finish with all under 17.
I don't know the difference though, cause i just did it the once.
You should put some def in there to, wait a few levels every time though, the less frequently you do the roll, the more you can get(i think)
I never even saw the dark star's attacks, so i don't know if you should watch out for them or not
