Brussels

Day 2 continued

After Bruge we went to Brussels, the capital of Europe apparently. First thing we visited was the Atomium, which is a massive iron molecule. I'm surprised I've never heard of it until now, as it seems pretty impressive. We never went inside though.

Afterwards we went to Mini Europe, which is a park of miniature buildings from around Europe. Some of the models like the Eiffel Tower were pretty massive, and there was a lot of easter eggs to find like cars falling into rivers and random smurfs in the buildings, so it was pretty cool. We had dinner nearby, but it was a rip-off, and we learnt not to eat at restaurants near popular attractions ever again.

Later we wandered around the town center and saw more churches and old buildings. Had a drink at some random pub, seems beers are served in pretty small portions here. Wandered around the royal gardens and past the palace, and then we were off to another Etap hotel. My dad drove on the wrong side of the road 4 times today, but we survived. The roads around Brussels seemed pretty mazey though, even the GPS got confused.
