Maybe he was bored and decided to take a ponder at why there is loud music coming from the subwoofers of the Valkyrie Tank.

Then Anna catches up to him/it and the first boss fight begins.

If you win, you get a new character.
If you lose, well.

Akron (or Darkron which is my idea for being the final boss of the game. Darkron is the older brother of Akron!) has stolen the Jewel of Life, which prevents from this forest from dying. (Later, all the trees will rot!)

Actually, when I saw this, I thought that maybe there was some fancysmancy artifact of fancysmanciness ON the stump. I didn't really think about the tree itself until I read the comments
